Default Test drove a Vectra VXR

At the weekend and all i can say is...........what a huge disappointment, it was only the 255 ps model but was far from impressed and honestly felt like my CDTI 150 with tuning box responded so much better, so it's put me off getting one, big up diesel power !

Yer but would expect a decent run from a vxr vectra there supposed to be superb, I will not knock it as i haven't yet driven one but im finding more and more people dissapointed with the performance of these vehicles. =/

I know remaps can change a car a lot, but as a standard car with 255 ps i was expecting much much more, put my foot down and nothing, nothing then it went it a little then i had to change gear and i didnt really like the feel of the car round bends, maybe as it wasn't my car i was more careful, but even still, a HUGE disappointment.

the 255's don't have a great rep, the 280's are a different kettle of fish apparently - alot better

See, I am not overly tempted by a VXR - even if I could afford one - because the nat. asp. 3.2 V6 GSi engine just pulls from idle at 600 rpm right through to the rev limiter, no hesitation, whatever gear. It is the most intoxicating feeling, to be honest. No lag or anything.

Guilty as charged After a remap it was a lot better, but not fantastic, plenty of power but a bit useless through the front wheels .. Standard Vxr 255 or 280 is not worthy of the badge imo .. Remapped is how they should be standard with all that torque ..

Well, i have plumped for an E46 M3 rather than a Vectra VXR, just didn't do enough for me, they look nice, but as said, hopeless through the front wheels and rear wheel drive is much more fun
