Hiya people. I followed the missus home today and everytime she indicated left the brake lights started to flash with the indicator, when her headlights were on they also started to flash when she indicated. Checked the bulbs they seem fine. So I changed the bulb holder with the other side which was fine whilst driving and it worked perfectly, can it be the bulb holder unit thats faulty? Oh its a nightmare, means she'll have to drive my veccy!!! please help good people, cant afford to go to a stealer!!!!

In older cars especially F***ds it was a faulty earth. The light cluster earth would be slightly corroded and it just needed a quick clean and it usually worked.

So probably slight corrosion on the earth feeding the light cluster.

If you've swapped the holders from the good side to the bad side and then the bad side was working ok, then I'd say its the earth on the actual unit itself somewhere. What car is it on?

I would take the holder off and look for any exposed metal. This would probably be the earth. It usually a cheap tin strip of metal. Not sure what the Vectra earth is like. Still sounds like a earth problem.
