    Default Messing you around

I am so furious after going to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription today. I took it in last wednesday and get told it hasn't been prescribed and will have to go back to the surgery, all well and good but they don't open on saturdays,
so now i have to wait until monday, after i have taken Emma to nursery.

I would not mind, but i need this medication and then they mess me around like this. I have to take 2 different types and the one is more needed as well.
This has happened before, they told me i had to see the doctor before they could prescribe it to me, because of side affects,
first i knew about it. This is twice this has happened now!!

    Oppologies for my rant

    I don't understand.

You say you took the prescription to get the medication, and then you say it hasn't been prescribed....

Surely the doctor who gave you prescription doesn't need to do anymore ?

    Or am I missing something.

I think what she may mean Ste is that she requested a repeat prescription and went to collect the medicine at the pharmacy, only to find that the surgery /doctor hadn't written the prescription and sent it over to the pharmacy.

Not sure that's what she says.

'took it in last Wednesday' - took what in??

    Confused greatly.

Ok maybe I haven't explained myself clearly, my opologies.

I took my presciption to the doctors last wednesday so they could get it sorted with the pharmacy, 'ready for me to pick up', which is where i went yesterday but my medication wasn't there so now i have to go to the doctors tomorrow to ask them why.

Why would you take your prescription to the doctors?? Surely they write it and you take it to the pharmacy to convert to the drugs described on it?

We get repeat prescriptions for one of our daughters, we simply ring up the docs to say we need it again, then collect the prescription 2 days later (why it takes so long is a mystery to me) and take it to the pharmacy and collect the tablets.

You tick the pills you want and put it in the box in the doctors at reception, then they send it to the pharmacy which i have to wait 48 hours. Or if i have a repeat i can take it to the pharmacy myself and wait 10 minutes.

This sounds complicated to me now

Thats how its works anyway, maybe yours is different i don't know.

I know what you mean. The repeat prescription is sent by the doctors surgery to a pharmacy of your choice. This is to save you the hassle of going to the surgery then to the pharmacy yourself.

So the doctors surgery did not send the completed repeat prescription to the pharmacy....
