    Default Permanent de-swirling

My black sapphire vec looks a heap in sunlight because of the swirls (previous owner didn't look after the paint too well.

I'm after something to permanently remove the swirls, not simply cover them. I've tried ScratchX but it is sooo hard to apply and my arms end up aching like hell!

Got a cheap random orbital polisher, can someone recommend an abrasive polish to get rid of the swirls, without too much risk of doing further damage to my paint.

    Cheers.

Megs #83 will do the trick mate, but the polisher your on about wont do you any favours if its the sort of thing you get from Halfords. HTH

The trick is keeping them out of the paintwork. Its all down to good washing, 2 bucket method, good paint prep followed by a good seal/wax then the majority of the dirt can just be pressure hosed off.

You could try the one you have but it might take some time as they have no balls. You can apply it by hand but would just be the same as using scratch X. TBH, give scratch X a go with the one you have and if your getting results and your happy with it then maybe buy yourself some #83. Im using the Orange one HERE with megs pads and it brings the paintwork up like glass.

You will not permantly get rid of them i`m afraid, however careful you are washing they will slowly reappear. #83 is best applied with porter cable orbital polisher . Have a look over on detailing world for heaps of useful info .

My Astra after #83ìng it ..
