    Thumbs up Vectra B 2.6 sri to a Vectra C 3.2 gsi

Hi I'm looking to trade in my Vectra B 2.6 sri for a Vectra C 3.2 gsi. Am I likely to see much improvement on the performnace ? My 2.6 has been great, but I'm looking to trade it in for something newer/faster. Anyone else gone from a Vectra B V6 to a Vectra C 3.2 GSI, I would love to know your thoughts.

    I had a 2.5 CDX for a while then a SRi 150 (2.2) before I got my 3.2 Elite Auto.

IMO the C is a far superior car. While the C is heavier the 3.2 more than makes up for it.

To put things in perspective a standard 2.0T is faster thru' the gears and has more power than a standard Vec 'B' 2.5/2.6. The GSi is one step up from the standard 2.0T. No contest.

We are each entitled to our own opinions no matter how wayward some may be.

My Vectra-B 2.5 SRi was a disaster area. It's soul was possessed by demons.

From brand new, it ended up having a new gearbox fitted within 250 miles.

It never went around corners properly, always feeling very nose heavy, and was only ever happy going along reasonably straight roads.

Then, at about 60k miles, the engine started to get very clacketty, munched oil, and started to rust around the rear wheel arches.

I test drove a Vectra B GSi 2.6, and this version did have much better handling, although still a bit nose heavy.

Vectra-C is much better in all respects. No contest.

    dv.

omg, i can say exactly the same about vec c. my old b handled like on rails and never ever broke down. the c however, i had for two months, already spent around 1k getting the suspension how it should be, which is still nowhere near, already loosing coolant, and the tc light came on....i am sure i will like the car when i am finnished with it, but given the choice again i would go for another b.
