Hi as far as i am aware they do not fit "tc" to the 1.8. but the part number is 13138265. the switch costs BOUT£9 But it still might not work even if you have the blue plug at the back. i put one in mine but it does not work. Have a look at the thread "tc switch it works" it might give you some more idea about it. good luck with it anyway.

Thanks for that, Im gonna have alook behind the blanking plate 2morrow and see if I can find the blue plug. Its not a "must have" but I seem to be spinning the front wheels quite easy...Its possibly due to the fact that Ive been driving a freelander for the past 18 months and you need plenty of gas to get them moving, Again many thanks for your advice..Cheers, Bob.

Thinking about it, if you can spin your wheels you do not have traction control on your car, as the traction control would stop the wheels from spinning, all the switch would do if it worked would be to switch off the traction control and allow the wheels to spin. my car has traction control, if i boot it the wheels spin for a few seconds and a light comes on the dashboard, then the traction control takes over and stops them from spinning, i fitted the switch and it does not switch off the "tc" unlike some members cars,
    Ed.

Yep, you'll need a higher spec ABS unit to get traction control. Funny how some people can't switch it off but others want it...

Thanks gents, what you saying is making a lot of sense. I seem to be getting more used to setting off today so it was maybe just me..Cheers, Bob.
