    Default Double Din Radio Help

Hi All, After A Lot Of Thought I Have Decided My Cdr2005 Isn`t Good Enough For My Liking And Have Decided To Replace It. My Wife Is Giving Me A Bit Of Grief About This Saying I Am Going To Ruin The Look Of The Car (only Just Got It (2.2 Sri) And She Loves It) But At The End Of The Day Its Sound Quality And Not Looks For Me. I Have Amps And Subs From My Old Car And These Will Be Going In. Think I`ll Stick With The Original Speakers As I Have Read On Here That They Are Pretty Good. What Im Looking For Is Some Advice On What Head Unit To Go For, I Have Always Stuck With Blaupunkt As I Like There Stuff But In The Astra (old Car) I Could Never Get The Steering Controls To Work After Spendind £60 On The Adapters And Its Put Me Off A Bit. Idealy What I Would Like Is A Double Din Unit (not Dvd Gps Etc, Just Music) That Suits The Car, Will Work With The Steering Wheel Contols And Will Not Interfer With The Canbus Stuff. Any Advice Is Greatly Appreciated.

Basically mate i don't think you will find a double din headunit. You can but a fascia panel that converts the big hole into a single din size hole and a pocket so you can put a Sony, JVC, Kenwood etc in.

To get the steering controls to work you'll need a multistalk adapter. I work in Halfords and they sell everything you will need to put a new headunit in.

Have you seen a CD player you are interested in?

i just replaced my standard unit with an alpine and i think it looks like it was meant to be there mate same sorta colour as the dash and i can change the lights to match the car witch helps to keep it looking original and a lot better sound (where bouts in ni mate)
