Default What is this in my Veccy???

    Hello all,

I don't have a camera or even camera phone so am going to have to explain this :

Just in front of the handbrake and behind the gear stick there is noramlly a small compartment that has a sliding cover and can be used to hold drinks/change etc.

Mine doesn't have this, instead it has some dodgy gold ellectric connectors and some plastic things to clip something on??

I thought this was for a phone (my HU has a phone option) but since we have realised we can use bluetooth to connect phone i was wondering what this is for??

    thanks

It's the phone cradle. With you having the bluetooth option, I 'think' all it then does is hold the phone and charges it (with the relevant adapter bit for the model).

This is the mobile phone base plate. You have to buy a phone specific adapter that fits on the base plate in your car. This then gives you an external aerial signal and as Duncan says a charge.

They are available from your Vauxhall dealer. Expect to pay between £70 & £90. There is a an up to date list for compatible phones somewhere, I'll try and find it.

it's ok i phoned them today. £22 for a new cover. Would anyone like to swop lol? I have no use for a phone cradle thing as the car has bluetooth and the gold connectors looks bit out of place.

Should be the same as the facelift.

If so the part numbers are,

13126396 for the anthracite cover with chrome handle,

24463618 for the anthracite cover with gloss handle and

24463619 for the cashmere cover with gloss handle.

Hope this helps. Failing this, try Steve at LMF or keep an eye out on Fleabay.
