Default what should i expect to a full tank?

Hi everyone im new here (first post)
i Have had a signum 2.2DTI since jan, but i dont think it is running correct, everything seems fine other than a slight bit of smoke when i put my foot down,
but its only doing 34-35 mile to the gallon and getting about 300 miles to a tank, is this normal, BTW most or my driving is on 30-40 speed limit roads.

thanks for any information in advance.

I've got a 2.2 tdi and 33mpg would be nice , it is a lot better on a run, but if you've got smoke coming out you must have a heavy right foot so 35mpg is good.

Prob about right. I have same car average 15 to 20mph and average about 28-29 mpg but then again I have such short journey to work the car doesn't get time to warm up. Try putting it on motorway and reset computer and see what it can do, I tried and got about 40-45mpg,if you drive like a nun between 60 and 65 mph you will get alot more.
BUT WHO CARES WHEN YOU CAN CRUISE IN COMFORT, LOOK GOOD AND KICK THE ASS OF BADGE SNOBS, WORTH IT TO SEE THEIR FACES WHEN YOU HIT THAT MID RANGE TORQUE WOOOOHOOOOO!

Over 85000 miles I averaged 36MPG from a 2.2Dti auto SIgnum. The MPG isn't that stunning really but they do benefit from good motorway runs to get your MPG up.

My old 2.2 DTi SRi, averaged 41 - 43 mpg over 70000 miles, but most of that was motorway, then short London stint, it was driven quickly, not thrashed, so I'd suggest for urban, while it's not great, it's about right.

Likewise. My 2.2 direct is averaging 32 mpg. It's new and I've only done 700 miles in it so far, but it seems to have levelled out.
This is way less than my old 2.0dti used to do. I do the same mileage every week and the 2.2 direct is costing me £20 per week more than the 2.0dti used to!

34 mpg probably isn't bad really - for mostly around town, taxi kind of driving.
    300 miles/tank doesn't equate to 34mpg though. That's more like 420-450.
