Thumbs down message "P0300" one or more cylinders failure

    Hello, there....

I have a Vectra C signum 2004, and several times have seen the message P0300 over the hand-held terminal of my Chevrolet distributor. They have actually taken my car for inspection and they say to see nothing wrong on my car regards motor issues. they say is an intemitent failure, and it is not "present" always, so they can not see the failure and get it fix.

Is there any one who may have or had a problem like this and get me some recommendations to do?

I just notice that the motors vibrates a little on the mornings compared to when it was new, in 2004....... as a matter of fact ....just ONE time 2 months ago, just exiting from a parking lot, at low speed have experimented a strong vibration in the motor. Actually I turned off the car and waited, then turned ON again, and then the car continued normal again as today. I just thought that it could have been the fuel.

    well, please advise.

    thanks.
    Salvador Castañeda.

Sounds like the slow failure of the Coil pack. Normally goes with heat. ie, the hotter it is the more it breaks down.. Symptoms exactly like when it failed on my little brothers 'C'.. Replaced under warranty in his case.. Ask them to substitue a new one and see if the fault vanishes..

    HTH..

    Wink Thank you.

First of all, I would like to thank you all, who respond with a reply to my problem.

regards, if my message is in the right place, mmmm sorry, I do not know if it was....., I am new on this site, but just let me know how to do it right.

thanks "Gsi3.2" I´ll take note of your recommendation,.....

Duncan thanks for welcom me, ............. regards the specs on my car here they are: if need more let me know.

Is a Vectra 2004, C. Opel, but here in Mexico is Chevrolet, they did not allow to put the opel sign in front and behind of the car. The motor is a Motor ECOTEC 3.2 lit.

I still have warranty, that is why I would like to fix this problem as soon as possible, my local Chevrolet service shop, said that becase is an intermitent failure they can not really detect the problem. They have cleared the faults again and said that if they come on again they would do something else, but I do not feel ok with this, since this last time I send my car to the shop, they told me that they have cleared the error list and made a "calibration" using the hand-held terminal connecting to the car computer; so I think that they might have changed some of the parammeters working range, so doing this I think the car is going to work out of design range, just for the reason of avoid the messages to come up again..... could this happen???

well, in conclusion, I think they do not know what to do, or they take this problem easily and do not want to make nothing.

Parallel to this problem my car last time I saw the hand-held terminal in the shop, I saw 50 messages, ... mostly regards to CAN Bus communication problems, on which they also told me thay these messages are not true messages. They were told by one of the persons in Mexico city in charge of Opel cars, that these messages are present but should be dismmissed, I mean not take care of them....

well. .. . my question is..... and what if I talk about this to an engineer in Opel Germany about this messages? ...would he said the same?...

I know CAN protocol is a very old communication,... kind of serial comm, but I think that there might be something wrong, ... there is too many messages related to CAN Bus communication problems,

I know ....I wrote too much,,, but I wanted to take advantage, since you are a head of schedule, UK----Mexico....

    regards, thanks..
