Post What do you need...? 3.2 works

    Hi mates

I'm planning to replace the spark plugs, the cambelt and the serpentine (alternator/AC) belt on my 3.2.

    Things I know I'll need:
    - sparkplugs
    - cambelt + tensioners
    - water pump
    - serpentine belt + tensioner

Can you pls help me what else I will need?
    thinking of:
    - gaskets
    - special tools

Yeah, where can I get a camshaft locking kit and how much would it be?

    thanks!

Quite expensive tbh and hardly worth buying to do one belt, add in it's not just a simple replace a belt method *you need to know what you are doing* or you will have one slipped belt and one dead engine.

    Thanks!
I did complete engine rebuild on C20NE and C20XE from scratch, so have some 'basic' idea
Anyway... yeah, this engine is a bit more complicated with the 'double head'.

OK. For now let's skip the cambelt part.

Any requirements on the sparkplugs and serpentine belt ?

    thanks again.

Watching this thread with interest because I need to do the same on mine... I'd be very interested to hear how much all the parts end up costing.

    thats a cheap one....

the only extra gaskets you'll need are the throttlebody to plenubm one and the gasket for the waterpump... apart from that it's all easy stuff.. ( if you have 250mm long torx bits to get to the plenubm screws)

As VV advises, unless you are 100% sure about doing the cambelt on the V6 DON'T.. there's much more to it than the XE's...

I've done loads ( can do em with my eyes shut) but i'm still very very careful..
