Chipsaway Franchise

Have been looking into this recently after somebody posted up the website,am really interested in changing my career,did do a stint working for a compamy called Auto-Clenze, in a local franchise dealership so not green to the work or commitment involved,this sort of job sounds ideal to me..............

Was wondering if anybody know's of the company and how good/bad they are,not seen them down here in Devon but know that there is a few registered guys in the area,has anyone had dealing's with them or know's someone who works for them or had dealing's with them to let me know,you have to invest a whole lot of dosh to get started,but want to know if its really the step i should be taking,all info greatly recieved,good or bad,cheers in advance..............

The thing with franchises are that they are really separate companies, some good some bad.. you'd really just need to know about how good/bad the umbrella company is from a franchise perspective.

The car next door has had our local guy around a couple of times and the work has always been fine. If he ever comes back I will ask him for you.

I looked at it too Glen, I was really interested. But 22K (or whatever it was) is a whole heap of dollars to hand out. Plus I dont know how seasonal this is, during the cold and wet months it wouldnt be as busy or as pleasant to work.

Still tempting though.

The start up costs can be quite high with some franchises you could give them a ring and ask for there franchises pack.

Your doing the the right thing by asking for info you need to speak to a guy who already has a franchises with them and see if its worth it.

Have you not thought about buying all the gear yourself and starting up on your own it maybe cheaper you could cover car meets etc.

I'm sure the forum members would give you plenty of work.

Thats why i've asked the question really Roy,to find out if anyone know's more than i can find out or any horror stories to tell me to steer well clear of them........

Have thought about it,but having the leads is the key and chipsaway give you some of them aswell as you sourcing your own,need as much info as possible,might not even do it at the £22k starting package they want but no harm in asking questions,will have to give the CA guys a ring and ask for their recommendations......

Car meets is a good idea,might try that first and see how that goes,thanks for that Paul..........

Glen why give them money for a franchise, why not just start up under your own name.

Your right Glen leads are the key but alot of these franchises just want to sell you the gear and then cut you loose.

Once you get known must of your leads should be coming from word of mouth ie friend of a friend etc.Also there are loads of other car clubs apart from this one but as Darren said it could be seasonal.

Forgot to say Glen you could buy a Daltons weekly it lists Businesses for Sale and see if there is any chip franchises that have been put back up for resale.

If there is loads stay well clear

( Daltons weekly comes out on a Thursday) not sure of price it used to be a £1
