Help needed please knocking/banging noise

Now that i have the car back from being painted, i am now interested in sorting some of the other probs with it.

Its the facelift model 55 reg and it bangs/knock sounds like in the rear when i go over speed bumps and pot holes.

Ive adjusted tailgate, removed the spare and tools, taken out the parcel shelf and still it makes the noise.

Ive seen a few posts regarding the rear anti roll bar bushes could it be those but i thought i read somewhere that the facelift had slightly different set up.

Any help would be great.

Check the springs!! My car broke one last week and it seems common.

are springs just an easy visual check or does it need to go up on a ramp wheels off etc

Phil, another thing to check is the rear control arms, top and bottom arms. Im not familiar with the facelift setup as mine is pre facelift, but there are a few mentions on this forum about these arms.

real common on all vec b's and c's is rear anti rol bar bush's, dead cheap to fix. one bolt out which holds bush in place.cost a couple of quid each but hard to diagnose as faulty as ive never found play in them but replace them and noise goes away.
