    Default Signum Parking Sensors

Hi, can anybody recomend any parking sensors which will fit the signum as the crash limit bar seems to be in the way. Or can the sensors be fitted into the black valance below the bumper has anybody done this?

    Thanks Ashley.

    Thanks Ashley.
I fitted mine into the black valance bit because it was obviously easier to do and disguises them better which is an advantage. I angled them up a bit so as not to pick up on rough ground (I had a house with a gravel drive which didn't help) and they work fine. Possibly a little low which sets them off early when the car is fully loaded which is annoying but a rare occurence. Also if one gets knocked in flush (ie pointing down) they go off early. But usually they work just fine.

..but I wouldn't advise putting them on the lower skirt on the Signum - they're simply not meant to go there. It's only on the estate they're meant to go there.

As ditchp said, have a look at andy.l's thread on it as that covers it,and I also posted info there from when my kit was fitted way back.

I put some in the valence and they were forever beeping. I ripped them out and changed the valence. I'd just do it right and place them in the bumper and cut the crash beam.
    Andy's thread explain's it all.

Mine work OK.....so every man to his own........not sure I would cut the crash beam though, sounds as though it might compromise body protection in the event of a shunt.

No, it won't. If you read my post in that link above, it's actually endorsed by Vx Product - the people who design the cars, as being okay to do.

Ive got a PDF with diagrams in, its about 2.8Mb so cant post it here, but explains the whole process quite clearly.

That has a section on cutting the crash beam too and also hw to route the cables into the cabin etc.

Any ideas where I can upload it to?
