Not sure but you may struggle with the power. I tow a foldup camper with my cdti 150 auto and have no problems at all.
Your cars weight, size etc is fine but again its your engine size that might let it down

What ANDY W said, would have concerns about the engine size.

I used to tow with a vec b 1.8 and it did struggle up banks.

    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

I would say similar, check the weights to ensure that's all OK. But the 1.8 may struggle towing any caravan.

I shopped around and got one fitted localy to me, but watch out as quite a few companys wanted to cut my bumper but the company I used didn't and the Towbar make was Towsure and fitted by Norbrook Trailers at Stretton, Warrington. Sorry but I cant remember the price but he was the cheapest aswell.

In the back of the caravan mags you can get a chart which you plot your kerb weigth v axle weight of your van (I think these are the axes). If you cross the shaded area then the advice is it is not recommended combination.

I remeber a while ago my Dad plotting a number of things based upon the van he has, against his list of potential company cars.

Obviously the power output of the car plays a factor, lower output cars have to be worked harder/change gears more in order to kepp up with the flow of traffic especially if the road is hilly. If you are ok with this or a more laid back approach then you should be ok, if you want some grunt to do something you may struggle especially on an incline.

    Hope this helps,
    Andy

I think you have your answer but for my two pence worth, I think you will definately struggle. Either way, you'll kill your car eventually

I would seriously be conderned about the clutch.

Phone any caravan dealer and they will match your caravan to car and tell you your answer.

Main problem i suffered with the 1.8 was on really steep banks the engine would die that much that i had to use 1st gear, you would build the revs up to change gear but once you select 2nd gear it would just die again, so back into 1st.

Get a 1.9 cdti 150 i go up the same banks now in 3rd and fourth and still accelerating.

    The difference really is unbelievable.
