A days marshaling, Test Day at Thruxton

OK first off but sorry no pics.

Got up at 5am this morning, left at 5.45 for 8.00arrival at Thruxton circuit & Marshals sign on.

I Got put put out on post 10., with a real nice fella who I have never met before but has been motorsport marshaling sine 1962!!!!

( Obvioulsy he does go home in between!)

Got my flask out and had a cuppa and then got my Digi camera out and it decided not to work... Kaput... Nowt....

Oh well I fancied one of those new Olympus Tough waterproof Digi cams anyway!

It was a good day and except a couple of snow showers this afternoon the weather was pretty good.

No major shunts, just a few spins, and more than a few close calls..

There was a good mix of cars out testing. Quite a few GT's 2 Lamborghini Gallardos, BMW M3's Porsche GT3's, Ginetta G50, Morgan etc etc.

In the afternoon they were joined by Formula Renault Sport Single Seaters, and Renault Clio Cup cars.

There was supposed to be a few BTCC teams testing but none were there, but the 'Vauxhall VXR Be A Racing Driver' winner out testing in his Astra VXR. Was putting some pretty impressive lap times and didn't seem very far of the pace of the GT's he was running with on the track.

Got home at 8.30, long day but good fun.

I promise photos next time! (When I have a new camera!)

Where abouts are you in the country?

Mainly into track tin top racing, Touring cars are the main area of interest.

Marshalling is good craic - I did it a few years ago but stopped. Definately something I want to concentrate on again though. I was doing track days and race meet stuff at the local track.
