    Angry Hurt myself

Today at work i hurt myself. Not bad but it is dam annoying.
I don't know if I've broke a rib or just ripped some muscle in my chest.
Hurts like hell when i bend down or breath in a bit deep or cough.
It's just annoying the life out of me.

How did you do it m8? With you saying it's not bad, just annoying, my money's on muscle strain.

It takes a lot of force to crack a rib...and by god, you know about it!

Get down to the local A&E Glen, can't be to sure could be a lot more serious than you realise.
Best of luck and keep us in the picture.

I was bent over double and i had me chest on my knee and was pulling a metal beam. All of a sudden. CRACK. It just felt like me rib bend inward and popped back.
Think i best pop down to A&E to check it out.

Sounds dicey mate and well worth getting checked out. That's also symptomatic of a collapsed lung. I know, I had one a few years back. Not pleasant.

Shan, get yourself to A&E for at least your own peace of mind.

I had something similar a while ago, I went on a Krav Maga intensive training course and took a good hammering.

I thought I might have broken something too, but upon going to A&E afterwards, they confirmed it was torn ligaments and cartlidge in my chest.

If this is the case with yourself ( and you haven't broken a rib or anything ) then the best thing you can do is keep mobile and exercise it.

Sitting still and doing nothing or "nursing it" so to speak, will do more harm than good m8.

If its chest wall/cavity tissue/muscle damage, when it heals it will heal in whatever position you are prone to keeping it in after the injury happens.

Which means if you are "guarding it" constantly and conciously hunching up or not moving it, it will knit back together in the place it's now sat at which is not good because as soon as you feel better and fit again, if you move the wrong way it may well tear and you are back to square one again.

So don't sit still, get it moving and exercise it whilst you are injured!!!!
