Question what rear brakes do the v6s have?

hi all, I have upgraded my front brakes and am considering upgrading the rears in the future... (I no thery dont do that much) but my sri has solid rears and my saab has vented rather large rears... was thinking of finding a set of them... what do other models (vectrs) have at the rear?

As far as I know they are all the same, the pads certainly were when I was looking through the parts listings for mine. If however the Saab 9-3 has vented rear discs I can see no reason why they wouldn't fit, what benefit you would gain under normal circumstances is unclear though because as you say, they don't do a great deal.

if you were racing it might be a different story, my Firenza ended up with vented front and rear discs with twin servos and they were brilliant, the standard drum brakes used to go through a set of linings per meeting!

You can make anything fit if you have a mind to (well almost)

well im sure if they fit my saab they will fit on the vectra... have to look at the rear set up more closely... if saab fitted them on the aeros they must be better...

All V6 engined veccy's have 292mm VENTED rear discs and its a simple mod to do all you need are new discs and caliper carriers as the calipers and pads are the same i did this to my 2.2 DTi as well as the 314mm fronts and it's made a HUGE difference

    Back in a V6 !!!!!!!!!!!! And lovin it !!!

Not a clue how much the carriers cost as i pinched mine from my Elite while it's off the road you may have to trim a small bit from the back plates or bend them slightly back

so am i right in saying i only need calliper carriers and new pads/ discs...

was thinking if the discs are thicker due to being vented shouldnt the callipers have to be wider so that they will fit inside with the pads?
