    Question brake pad wear indicator?

    Hi all,

I replaced my front brakes today with new 314mm set up from a saab 9-3 aero! The old front brakes were not worn out and the brake pad wear indicaor appeared fine it was not worn at all. Before replacing my front brakes the pad wear indicator used to come on intermittently and now its staying on.... My question is do the rear brakes have a pad wear indicator... I coulnt see one through the rear wheels!

This has been covered before when I was proved wrong! My Vectra (05 model) has only one wear indicator on the nearside front wheel. I am led to believe some have rear indicators as well.

the wear indicators are easily damaged and although it may look ok it is a wise move to replace it every time you replace the pads.

It would only be on if the broken wire was touching metal and for it to be on constantly it would have to be screwed into the shocker, have you got any oil on your drive? lol

My guess is that there isn't an indicator on the rear at all, sounds like you have the same setup to mine, one indicator on the front nearside.

There's definitely no rear pad wear indicator, only the fronts - situated on the passenger side only, until they then dropped the feature on the facelift!
