Take a look at this thread, I asked a similar question and found out about ChippedUK, Jayson the guy that responded offers a 'live remap' for the 2.2 for £150 which he reckons will give you around 15hp:

As soon as I can talk te missus into letting me spend the dosh i'll be going for it myself.

Great, if you decide to go with these and get it done before me, let us know you get on. I'll do the same if I go first.

Hi, I've got a 2.2 SXi that I'm thinking of getting chipped also.

Could you let me know what type of performance or fuel increase I could expect.

Also, what other (simple/low cost) modifications could I make for increase in performance ??

Also, does anyone have any figures for a 0-60 time on a 2.2. I keep getting figures of 8.7 and then 9.5

Also, what is the difference between my 2.2 (single exhaust) and a 2.2 Direct (two exhausts)

Sorry for all the questions, I did realise until writing this how much I didnt know..

You should get better economy after the remap, gains are around the 9hp mark with improved and widened torque curve.

Car is booked in at Chipped uk on the 27th of this month . ill let you know how it goes. we are looking at 1 - 2mpg better and about 9bhp but with a improved torque curve which will make it feel much quicker. The chap seems sure that i will leave a happy man so ill let u all know.
Spoons i think the 2.2 is 8.6 0-60 deffo not over 9 seconds. As for the direct having two exhausts i think that is only optional extra and id say yes it would give you a slight power gain. as for the cheapest mod i dont think there really is anything cheap for the veccy. Induction kit or a K&N panel filter.I think the panel filter are good but some say they dont notice and difference. Im sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon to correct me if im wrong

direct has twin exhausts as standard and does 155ps as oposed to the normals 147ps. theres a lot more differences to the engine internals as well though to achieve this.

Look forward to hearing how it goes
