Default 1.9 cdti sri and 3.0 v6 sri belt change ?

thinking of one of the two of these cars as the tax and petrol prices are too high , just wanted to know if anyone can tell me when ( milage ) the belts have to be changed on these and does anything else have to be changed at the same time and also the cost involved, better to be clued up on this kind of thing so as budget for it or knock down someones price if its due. also anyone got the real mpg for these on town use ?

3.0v6 cdti is 100k or 10 years I think, but leave it that long at your own perril!
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

My 3.0 V6 CDTI has service intervals every 2 years / 30K miles
I've asked dealerships when the cambelt is due and they also say 100K miles
When I refer to the service schedule they recheck and it comes back at 10 years / 150K miles
There is NO way I am leaving it that long and have agreed to have it carried out at next service of 90K miles with a 40% discount

I have owned mine since 10800 miles and am now on 49500 miles
When I took ownership oif the car I reset the average MPG
At the beginning it was between 32.0 and 33.0 mpg
It has been sitting at 33.2 mpg for at least the last 10K miles now
Obviously with the more miles the average is more accurate, but is less likely to change unless there is a dramatic change
In essence it works out at between 30 and 50 miles per 7 litres

the 3.0 is fine to leave to 100k ..........but the 1.9 have started to break just out of warantee and under the 60k mark...so it maybe a good idea to have one done if you buy the 1.9
