    Default Kids And Computers

Just over a yr ago I built up a nice little Athlon 2.7 set up for my girls, but, everytime they turn it on something is wrong with it, here's the fault list, none of which were present at the time of handover....

1 - They manage to unseat the AGP card twice a week, I think this is jnr getting over excited and kicking the PC.

2 - Boot up logon, I never specified one but it asks for one everytime now, I asked their mum what happened, the answer was jnr was banging all the keys

3 - LAN folder appears everytime the PC loads, I've tried deleting it etc but still it loads up an empty folder from the router software

4 - Left unused for say 45 mins the whole thing freezes and won't come back requiring a re-boot

5 - After intensive PollyWorlding the PC will crash, again I suspect this is Cozy Powell fingers at work again

6 - Wireless keyboard and mouse, two days ago the mouse wouldn't work, now it's the keyboard, no doubt crazy fingers work again, she been told shes paying for the next keyboard if she breaks the one I'm about to fit.

Kids can break ball bearings, so computers have no chance.

They also seem to "find things like that".

Try telling them 'If you break it, you pay for it!'

tried it, doesnt work cos they know its your money that you have give them in the first place and you would be just getting it back and then they just go and break something else.
ive found locking them in the cupboard under the stairs for a day without food or water has the desired effect

I've had a look in programs earlier, it seems there are quite a few "free" cereal packet programs, as well as ones written for Win 95 on there, so I can assume whats left of XP is screaming out for a lifeboat.
