    Default Ebay help...

I recently purchased something of Ebay and paid for it straight away using Palpal, that evening the seller contacted me letting me know that it wasn't quite as described and if I didn't want it to let him know which I did.

Our messages have been perfectly civil as we try and work out what to do.

So my question is - I have sent him money via paypal, for which I now want a refund, he wants to give me a refund but neither of us want to do anything that could affect our feedback or look bad on Ebay - any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Chris

Just get him to give you a refund via paypal and don't leave each other feedback. Job done.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Feedback on Ebay is made by you and the seller. If it's a mutual cancellation of the sale, why would either of you give bad feedback? In fact, neither of you leave feedback is the easiest way.

I personally would leave neutral feedback, advising people that the sellar was VERY honest and up front.

or you could both agree to leave positive feedback for each other - explaining the honesty and good communications ... then everyone is a winner

Remember Paypal will charge you for recieving a payment so you won't get the full amount back !

Yes make sure he clicks the refund button at the bottom of the transaction page in his Paypal account.

In Myebay seller clicks "report unpaid item" and I think it's "we have both agreed not to complete transaction no unpaid strike will be given". It will mail you and you just confirm so seller gets final value fee money back. I suggest not bothering to leave feedback until seller does.
