    Default 2007 1.9 cdti (150), Reliability?

    Hi,

I have purchased a 2007 1.9 cdti (150bhp). I used to have a 53' 2.2 dti, which was known for it's reliability! I was wondering how reliable, in general, my new car is?

    Cheers.....

Some good ones, some bad ones. Turbos would be better than the 2.2DTi, but swirl valves and EGRs are troublesome on 1.9s that do a lot of town driving.

EGR valves are on back order with VX because of the number that have gone. My 06 Vec. was driven 90% of the time on the motorway, never had a tuning box etc, was never booted until warmed up and the turbo was allowed to cool down before switching off. It still fell victim to EGR valve.

Same here, car is in the Vx hospital and running around in a rental for about 2 weeks now with no sign of EGR's coming into stock. This EGR problem must be costing GM ££'s.
The warranty manager told me 11,000 on back order, probably more now.

On the 1.9's I presume the swirl & dump valves are covered under warranty ?, if they go after 3yrs how expensive are they, & are they an easy job to do ?
one last Qn if I may, any other known issues with this engine ?

    Thanks!
