Default Got myself some Megs 3 stage...

....Today, and a new microfibre washmitt.
I went into Halfords and saw that they had an offer on:

"20% off our most popular cleaning products"

I asked if the Megs stuff was included and the member of staff said yes, but when he put the products into the till the discount didn't show.

It seemed they weren't in the promotion.....

Anyhow, I looked sad and dejected and he then manaully did a price overide for each item..... Paid £7.00 for each of the Megs stuff and £8 for the washmitt, so I think that was a good price(he says fingers crossed!)

So I set off home to get started, it was a lovely clear sky, 17oC in town.

By the time I got home it was cloudy, windy, cold and with a very special mist kind of rain that seems unique to Dartmoor.

Anyhow hopefully tomorrow will be better so I can get started.

    Any tips????

Yep take it back and buy Autoglym SRP instead.

    No just kiddin. (ish)

Seriously if you have not done so already clay the car first. Stage 2 will thank you for it later.

Stage 1 is an excellent chemical paint cleaner. Use a tiny amount. Less is more. After this stage (especially if clayed) the paint should be like glass. It has no abrasives so you wont be taking out scratches etc.

Stage 2 is a pure polish. That is to say it has no abrasives and so there is no mechanical polishing like with Megs #83. That's why it needs help in terms of claying. It acts like a glaze and will add a really wet look to the car. It's really really important to use a small amount. Otherwise you'll be pushing it around the car all day.

Stage 3 is a not so good. Carnuba wax. It will go on fine but will need topping up quite soon. Unlike a a good wax like Collinite 476 or 915. It's not that durable.

However the 3 step process is a great way of getting into different products for each process and the results should be excellent.

Megged my new car today and it looks amazing!!!

I used Megs Gold Wash to clean it. Didn't bother claying as the car is 5 days old and the paintwork is like galss anyway. Then Stage 2 polish (which is VERY shiny) then stage 3 wax. The result is a car so shiny it is literally mirror-like. You can see reflections in it from things that are a hundred yards up the road.
Agree about the wax though. I'm not a big fan of liquid waxes as they are usually not as durable as paste wax. Having said that it is still very good, if not as durable and longlasting

    Good luck with it

It did clear up eventually, but then had to go shopping with my good lady...., mind the cupboards were a little bare!

Anyhow, I washed and dried the car and stage 3'd one panel to see what the results would be like....

Well the rear nearside quarter panel is like looking into a mirror, great result. All the nasty swirl marks are gone and its SOOO shiny.

All I need now is a day with the car so I can do all of it!!
