    Default boost presure control

hi everyone im a newbee here so not sure if posted on right part

i have a vectra 2.0 dti. 2003 on saturday i was going up an incline not much of 1 right enough, however whilst accelerating my car made a noise much like a dump valve sound and then whent into limp mode and would not go over 40 mph. i pulled into side and restarted it after about 300 yrds a spanner sign came on. i pulled in again and restarted car it has never came back on. my friend has a professional code reader and it states the following: P0234 BOOST PRESSURE CONTROL POSITIVE DEVIATON.
can anyone tell me what this means. he cleared the code and car drives fine but i di feel a slight lack of performance (not sure if i just imagine it)

    many thanks for all replies

Moved this to it's own thread for you.

Sound like the all to familiar split boost hoses problem on the 2.0/2.2. DTi. Have a search for 'split boost hose' and you'll find a few threads, and check over all your boost hoses carefully for small splits.

No worries - just thought you'd get more people looking/replies with it in it's own thread.

Excellent! - sorted. - and from memory that's the hose that is the one that usually goes.

You just need to get the new one form the dealer - they modified the hose to be thicker/stronger to, hopefully, reduce the chance of it happening again. Your wallet will take a wee bit of a bashing though as the part you need is, from memory, a couple of hoses combined. I think it's around £120(?) - that figure seems to stick in my head, but guys that have actually had to buy one can confirm, or you may find it mentioned in the other threads.
