    Default Remapping a 70k SRi

I'm thinking of getting the well reputed BSR remap - although my SRi CDTi SRi has just pipped over 70k.

Anyone think it's a bad idea to remap a car that's done that amount of miles? It's not exactly high mileage for a diesel (ok it is for the year), but still wondering what people thoughts are.

I'd be especially keen to hear from higher mileage remapped owners... hopefully with nothing but positive comments

    It's only jsut run in

If a car has been previously looked after & is not abused a reputable remap will be fine, Yes you are putting more loadings on the engine & it's components but it will all be within the engines safety margins.
If you have a remap & then Thrash the @rse of it every where from cold Etc. It will die.
If anything a remap helps you drive more efficiently as you don't have to drive the car as hard to achieve the same (If you get me).

I have had Cars remapped at 100K Plus & at 150k + they are still performing

    Cheers

    Dean

I got my BSR on 32k and use it for business every day worth the money and cant see why you should have any problems if you have stayed on top of services etc.

i.e. DeanF. For a diesel that's nothing. I'd still remap a petrol at that mileage. What difference is their from remapping it at 20,000 and running it past 70,000 to mapping it for the first time at 70,000? None really, other than the one that's been mapped at 70,000 hasn't had the additional 'stress' of the remapped one. As long as the car has been well maintained then you shouldn't have any problems.

Yep, just run in, perfect timing if you ask me! It's a lot kinder than suddenly whacking a box on it, that's for sue.

My 05 1.9CDTi Vectra has an 888 remap in has now done over 100k.

Initially I had a tuning box, then changed to a map. This has all been since about 15k
