    Default Renaults are brillant...

My two younger brothers (16 and 18 years) were in their friends Renault Clio 1.6 the other night. At about 60-65mph he crashed it. All three of them are fine.

We don't what caused him to lose control on a straight bit of road, but the car span out, smashed sideways into a concrete bollard, then though a fence, and rolled at least 4 or 5 times before coming the a stop upside down in a field about 50 metres from the road...

The crashed was so servere that all the Ambalance crew and the police could say was 'how the hell are you not dead'.

The Clio was a 4 star N-cap rated car, with 'state of the art side-impact protection'. Other small cars of the same age would only be a 2-3star rated, and my brothers would be unlikely to be here today.

Everyone was amazed they survived yet they walked away with cuts and bruises!

Very lucky indeed. Fate plays a big part too I think along with good build and design. Glad they are all okay.

    Lucky.

A mate of mine died in a crash, whilst others in the same vehicle walked away with cuts and bruises. Fate and luck have a lot to answer for.

Shaz had a nasty crash in her Cinqucento Sporting, rolled 4 times from the outside lane of a dual carriageway at dual carriageway speeds, she was OK apart from whiplash, cuts and bruises.

Shows you how car safety and design has moved on for the better. Glad to hear your little brothers are alright.
