Stage I cams and custom downpipe work on the way!

Ok guys, I can't contain the excitement any longer, I need to share it all...

As some of you know I had this arrive the other day...





A 4-1 DBilas exhaust manifold.

Due to the Vec C being slightly different design when it comes to the z22se engine compared to its brothers and sisters in the form of astras, vx220's and vec b's, it cannot be bolted straight on to the existing downpipe.

One of the guys on z22se.co.uk has kindly agreed to build me a downpipe, and weld in my new high flow cat, making the whole system 2.5" bore from downpipe to tailpipes (except where the exhaust splits, but then it becomes 2 x 2" = 4" so no problem there!).

And I have ordered these from a US company called AllEcotec through a group buy...



These little beauties should give me a much broader powerband, quoted as 2,600 rpm - 6,800 rpm, where the exhaust mods should help with low down torque so I'm told!

I can't help but be a little excited!

I just like the idea of doing something different, and there aren't any other 2.2 Vec C's with engines modded to this extent (that I know anyway!)

If you buy it in the uk, the manifold alone costs over £400, ordered it from Germany though! Rip-off Britain strikes again! The cams are here:
