    Default VV's Smoking Chronicles

Ok, been gearing up for my second attempt for a while now, and had to find an opp like nipping out of a side road when nobody will give way, anyway I finished work on Sat/Sun and finished off the packet before going to bed so I'd have none to get up to.

So up we get Sunday afternoon headlong into the flu, I had a suspicion I'd caught it a few days before tbh, so off down to Wilko's to get some patches, and guess what, no own brand ones left just the milk you ones at £14 a pack and all the tills have like 9 ppl each waiting to be served.

Now here's the crucial moment, I got back in the car cussing about it all and oh whats the point anyway, but, I didn't do my usual go and get another pack and give up trick, I've not had one since 4.30am Sunday now.

My chest is raw from the flu and I'm bringing up nasties right now, I'm on a diet of Oranges,Apples,Water and plums to help move the flu on quicker, this time I'm not going back, I can taste the nicotine in my tongue clearing out and smell it on my breath still, hopefully this will cease in a few days time and the whole thing will be a distant memory.

Big GOOD LUCK from me, keep trying.

I know it is hard to do. If you get cravings, DRINK plenty of water, and do something you enjoy doing to get your mind off it. If you had a routine where you smoked, CHANGE it.

At work I only used to smoke on breaks. When I stopped smoking, I worked through my breaks and took them at different times to break the routine of it.

Cheers guys, I've been at it for 16 yrs now, and it's time for it to go, I hate how it smells, what it does for you in the social stakes, the cost and the fact I've been having trouble breathing properly lately, I've hit a time in life where I can either re-educate my ways or die, a thing I noticed is how us Brits seem to live to be drunk etc, not that that's me but I do notice a hangover can take 3 days to clear these days, I've started putting £7 a day in a bag to show the savings I'll be making to help keep me to task this time.

mate stick at - it's ****** difficult to start with but it gets easier.

i've been off em for 5 years now - after breaking a 30+ a day habit.

You'll feel so much better after - and then you can be righteous about fag smoke :-)
