Default Need a cambelt change. Local dealers in Maidenhead area

    Hey,

I'm in need of a cambelt change with tensioners etc. The car's an 04 1.9CDTI (120) and has done 102k. The last owner was a company so it's all motorway miles. Not sure that makes a difference for how long the cambelt will last?

It has a full vauxhall service history (last at 88k) but it as according to the dealer (i phoned them) not had a cambelt change. Seems strange to me that they havent had it done.

Anyways. Does anyone know of a local garage in or around the Maidenhead that will do this for a reasonable price? The garage i normally use will probably charge me a fortune. I'm not even sure how much time it would take to changing the cambelt on the 1.9cdti...or the price for that matter. Around £150-£200 including the belt perhaps? I'm strapped for cash at the moment so the cheaper the better Perhaps better if I buy the parts and then get the garage to fit it...

    Cheers,

cant seem to edit the post, but would like to ask if the 1.9cdti 120 04 engine is a non-interference engine?

See if you can find a garage which will buy the parts from VX and get them with no added Vat.
    Cambelt changes are around 150ish
I fell lucky, got my waterpump and cambelt supplied Genuine GM from Vauxhall supplied and fitted for £185 but i didnt pay any vat.

hmm.. I was quoted £310 from my local garage (who also is a member of the goodgaragesscheme...if that means anything).

He said £120 for timing belt kit and waterpump and then 2 1/2 hours labour to change the timing belt, drain and refill the coolant and change the waterpump....

Surely it cannot take that long to do. There's no difficult access to the timing belt and should be a simple job for a mechanic...?
