Default Help needed from Scottish members!

I am planning to get my wife a day at Nick Nairn's cookery school for her 40th Birthday. As we will need to fly up and spend a couple of days or so I will be needing accomodation. There are a few places mentioned on the school website but they are all fairly expensive so any advice would be appreciated.

The school is located near Lake Mentieth and the foothills of the Trossachs.

I am thinking of flying to Glasgow and hiring a car.

Please dont pm me as the Mrs shares my Email account.

    Thanks in advance.

    Have a look here...

Aberfoyle is pretty near, but there's loads of places to stay if you don't mind travelling a bit.

Aberfoyle is nice - remember going there on a holiday when we were kids and folks hiring a cottage. Kinlochard was nearby too IIRC. Can't remember what it was like though.

That whole area is just stunning, you'll have a great time wherever you stay scalesy. Can't really offer much input on specific places to stay as it's been such a long time (25 years) since I moved from Scotland.

Stirling would be the best bet as you'll find stuff to do and see while she is slaving over a hot stove. Beware of Americans wearing tartan though!

Thanks for the advice Callender looks a good bet!

And the Mrs will be watching Mr Nairn cook, not cooking herself (often the case)
