    holiday there starts on sunday, any ideas on what to do would be appreciated, especially for a 4.5 yr old, thanks

    yea, make your way out of it to Colchester and take her to the zoo. One of the best in the country and loads to do.

    I think i'd head up to Gt Yarmouth for a day as there are theme parks there.. Clacton has a nice peir (as does walton), it used to be a brilliant day out, but not sure what its like now though..

    Edit. As Garry says Colchester Zoo is also a good place to visit..

    we did yarmouth last year so we`ll maybe venture further south on days out. the zoo`s pencilled in and also lakeside shopping

    dont bother with lakeside mate, i live 5 minutes away but if you really want to shop go to bluewater, its a lot bigger and has loads more shops
