Well it's a bit difficult to see what the EDS IPF boxes do seeing as Regal don't seem to be able to supply them for the Vectra / Signum yet!

Are you meaning for the 1.9 specifically? Apart from Matt in his Astra 1.9, I'm not sure if any of the BSR guys on here with 1.9 Vectra/Signums have been on a RR yet?

With ref to your question "Do they push the power they state on the box", with regard to BSR the answer is yes, definitely - and then some. The BSR figures are conservative, as we've seen to date from all the people who have the BSR and have been on a RR - me included.

    Here you go :-

    Power :-193.6bhp

    Torque 308.7lb/ft

This is without any additional intercoolers or exhausts, just a standard car with a standard BSR re-map.

I was suprised by this as the two Vectra's on the recent rolling road day with the club that had uprated intercoolers and exhaust etc got considerably less.

IPF is just a gateway to install the standard Vauxhall and modified EDS maps, just like Superchips Bluefin and BSR's PPC. VXRPC have the IPF in stock now.

From personal experience, the EDS map is not as strong or refined as the BSR software and very very rarely hit 190bhp, let alone the 200 claimed and torque is well down on the claimed figures.

BSR actually claim 185bhp and 300lb/ft as they have to ensure that 'every' car gets these figures.

I've not seen real figures like that on any Vectra without considerable smoke, it's a pity we can't compare in the flesh...

To be fair mine does smoke if driven hard, but then again it smokes with the standard map!!! You tend to get a puff of smoke when you first put your foot down then just a little as you accelerate hard.

When I tried a tuning box before the map, it did smoke quite considerably. Don't know why, but Astra's tend to be a bit more smokey than Vectra's, even in standard form.

Chris, I thought you would have an opinion on this as you started the thread?

I think He would like to compare in the flesh rather than sling wild comments.

I would note however, the power peaks very low down and does just that, peaks. Certainly my power curve ramps up very quickly and holds across almost flat before dropping off just before 5000rpm. The map you have is definatly an improvement over standard but lacks refinement and unfortunately we don't have any transmission losses to look at.

    .
You might be right, but Chris was shouting his mouth off about having the fastest CDTi and it is strange that he has suddenly gone quiet after I put up my graphs. I know you have driven Spoons old CDTi, and comparing out on the road, mine did outrun Steve's with ease.

I personally could not care but it's all fun and games. As I said before, I have done the proper fast cars before and I would have bought a fast car to start with if I wanted to do it again,

Your comparing my graphs on a car that has just a remap, to yours which an awful lot more done.

I don't know how you can say it lacks refinement when you have not driven it, I have had EDS, tuning box's and now BSR and the BSR is a far better drive than the others.

Regarding transmission loss's, the 'at the wheels' figure is 158.1bhp, so I would say an average loss through the transmission.
