Default just a bit of advice needed

picked the new car up on good friday,,so had it about 10 days now.it has been on the drive all this time due to me having a works van.came home from work today and decided to give it a good wash and wax and this is when i noticed the car is covered in overspray.closer inspection reveals a faint difference in silver on the drivers door which i never noticed when viewing the car.the car is from a main dealer,so will they be obliged to fix this,or is it tough luck on my behalf.will get on to dealers in the morning, but first i thought i would get your comments first

Silver is most notorious colour to match - terrible most people pick up on any respray jobs if the car has had any with this colour.

I don't think they would be obliged to fix, but hey you don't get what you don't ask for!!

Like I say chance your arm - 'Car not as described'. You haven't got the colour you were told!!

Good Luck if you decide to chase the dealer.

I had a similar issue with a dealer. When the car arrived all looked well, but on closer inspection there were a few faults. I rang them up, complained that I had spent £XXXXX and didn't expect a car that wasn't in "As New" condition, especially as they claimed before I bought it that it was "in perfect condition". I asked them if they were in my position would they be happy. The normal answer to expect is "No". Puts you on the right side for winning. They did fix the issues.

Similarly the previous Vectra I bought from Motorpoint had had a new rear 1/4 panel welded in. The guy who did the welding/paint must have been good. It was silver and you couldn't tell. What gave it away was the mastic joint between the rear 1/2 and the boot had been put on and by the looks of it he'd used his finger to spread thew mastic. Not happy, complained in writing, they exchanged the car.

If you go into the argument expecting to win, you will. Hope it works out for you

Oh no G. Say it ain't so.

Cleaned mine today and must admit was a bit concerned what was under the muck but it's come up fine.

Definiatly worth a visit back to the dealer to see if they know why it's been resprayed or a call to the previous owner?

Had an issue with the finish on the drivers door of mine when I 1st got it. It was about 12 months old at the time.

I first noticed it when I gave it its 1st wash and took it back to the stealer (Lookers in E. Port) the following morning. Cornered the salesman and he agreed that it wasnt really acceptable the way it was. So the following day the door was repaired and repainted FOC!!

    result.

If you dont ask, you dont get.....
