Apologies if this post is in the wrong section but can anyone recommend a software and cable package for a 55 plate Signum 1.9CDTI (120)?
Thanks in advance.

I have a 05 plate CDTI 150 Vectra, just bought an ELM 327 box off fleabay, some chap in China. Comes with some software. Just hook up to a laptop and connect to car.
reads my ECU ok and cost £25.00, arrived in 5 days.
it's all to do with which ECU's it reads.. not all readers read all the ecu's.. vectra/signum has 11+ units which control the car.. most cheap readers will talk to only one of them ( the engine unit)..
The value of the dearer units is the ability to read and program all the units..
The Elm 327 ( indeed all the Elm based units ) will only read from the Engine ECU, as will most cheap (ie 25-40 quid) fault code readers.
If you want a full picture of what your car's doing or not doing then you need to spend quite a bit more.
I dont have Vaux-Com, I wish I could afford it as it's the most advanced Vx diagnostic tool I've come accross apart from the real Tech2.
What I do have is the slightly cheaper (ie half the price) OpelscannerCan ( the canbus edition of the advanced Opelscanner). It can access and read all the Ecu's, read and reset all fault codes in those ecu's and is updated pretty regularly. Not much can be programmed with it yet, but the makers are adding functions to it with each update.
It really is the case of getting what you pay for, but if all you want is to know what the engine Ecu's doing and nothing else, then you can do that for less than a trip to the stealers would cost you.

I've just bought a used ELM327 from another member on here, although I have downloded a copy of Digimoto to use it with as it has more features than the chinese software.
I don't have the reader yet as it's being delivered, although I have found something really interesting in the Digimoto software:-
lol.. now there's a chllenge.. i wonder how accurate that is at the pod?..
i'll stick with the newly updated VAUXCOM.. it's getting to be more and more useful.
moDiag Professional is also very good, give it a try! ;-)
I also want to try Proscan too, looks promising...
links for them 2?
