    Default Surprise Courtesy car

Friend of mine was rear ended in his R reg Frontera the other day. Took to approved repairer and ws given...a brand new, top of the range VW Touerag. Beats a corsa anyday.

i think dealers should use courtesy cars as a direct sales trick. Eg, if you took your veccy in for a service and they lent you a VXR for the day, then when you took it back they started showing you some figures they had already worked out fo ryou etc, it could work out in their favour. As it is, we currently dread taking the car in for any work.

Thats always been my arguement too Andy. I dropped my old 03 plate Subaru STI I bought 2.5 years ago for £29000 and it was due it's first 1000 mile service. It went in and I had asked for a courtesy car. They gave me a VW Lupo 1.0. I gave the key back to them and said you either do the service while I wait or give me a Subaru STI back.

I normally get a Corsa SXi 1.8 when I go in. Give it to our lass to drive and then get the bike out of the garage or use the XK-R.

XK-R or Vec estate. I know what I'd choose.

Got my own company. I previously was a contractor and worked in Middle East for a few years! Had lots of nice cars and slowly dwindling now as I bought a house and want to spend more on that every day!

Both totally different mate! XK-R is awesome fun, **** in the wet though, 13MPG when you drive it. Always thinking where the next petrol station is. Looks fantastic though. Has 20" wheels on it

Vectra is a fantastic motor, economical, comfy, all the mod cons etc. Plus it was cheap! I had a budget of £14k and came in under that, still have a 2 year warranty on it and it looks new. I was looking at BMW 530d and 330d as well, but I get ones on the edge of warranty, lots of miles and again rear wheel drive. Much as I love rear wheel drive it just isn't practical in the freak weather we get around where I live.

Though saying that I bet the BMW would of got up the hill
