Default Parking Sensors on Vectra Estate

    Hi all.
Can anyone post me pictures of aftermarket parking sensore fitted to a Vectra estate? I can only find pictures of hatchback models.
I am dubious about drilling the bumber in case they are wrong. I was gonna put the outer two to the outside edge of the reflecters in the black trim below the bumper but because of the angle of this I was worried that they will pick up things I am parking next to (i.e. the fence I park alongside on my drive with about 6" gap between car and fence)

The sensors I have are these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/REAR-CAR-PARKI...QQcmdZViewItem

I also apologise for the long hyperlink.

    Thanks.

Does this kit set off the Light Bulb Warnings??

What wires did you connect it to?

I have still to install my Meta Targa 2 (parking sensors mounted on number plate holder) and I might get one of these kits instead, might be easier to fit, as the Targa 2 requires the inside of the tailgate to be stripped out.

Thanks for that. So what was the bypass relay for?? (My memory has gone :-)

Few more questions if I may.

    1) Did you have to take the plastic trim off the bottom of the bumper to drill the holes? Was it already marked up?
    2) The rubber bung that you passed the wire through where inside the car did they appear? Was it under the storage compartment at the end of the spare wheel bay?
    3) How did you connect the wire to the connector in the fuse box? Did you scotch lock it to any existing wires?

    Thanks, Mark

    Marky,

    Answer to 1

No, I left it on, I got a centre line by running a compas in the groove between the bumper and trim. I cable tied the cables behind to the clips that hold the bumber and trim together and then loomed them with black tape and brought them in through the said grommit in question 2.

    Answer to 2

    Yes it is.

    Answer to 3

Scotch locked to the black wire (top right) and to an earth wire (any brown wire)

Doesn't affect my bulb warning (don't know if I even have one, mines a 55 plate facelift Design)

As glenboy said, gonna get some for my van too, there a good piece of kit!

    Hope this helps.

didn't remove it, but it wasn't marked (that I could see) Just stick your head under & check that you are not going to hit any of the clips that hold it on.

    2) The rubber bung that you passed the wire through where inside the car did they appear? Was it under the storage compartment at the end of the spare wheel bay?
Yes, need to remove the inner trim from inside the boot to gain access.

    3) How did you connect the wire to the connector in the fuse box? Did you scotch lock it to any existing wires?

Scotch lock to the live feed as in the photos in previous link. Earth is available in the same storage compartment that the cables come in through so no need to drill the body work.

    Thanks, Mark

    Best of luck.

saulty, wardy: Cheers guys for the helpful info.

Did you use a normal electric hand drill for the holes?

I think a trip to ebay is required....
