    Default Is this reckless ???

    I'll set the scene.

3 Cars travelling down a 21ft wide Clear,Dry, Straight open road which has the National Speed limit (60 Mph) Road below, travelling in the direction of view

The 3 cars are travelling at approx 35/37 Mph, The vehicle at the front is a Daihatsu Fourtrack (Powering on )
I approach the vehicles & join the cue at a distance, I wait to see what is happening, Give the other vehicles time to make a move & overtake, They don't, I start to overtake, As i start to approach the 2nd vehicle, it does a shimmy, I hang back for a second thinking he is coming out, He pulls back in, I think, Ok he has seen me & accelerate, he then swerves out, with No signal, I blast the horn & swerve to avoid, he keeps coming & clatters my mirror, he then has a few more shimmys, I pull back in , Infornt of the daihatsu & indicate to pull over, he comes past trying to over take, So i tell him to pull over & he pulls behind, having a Panic attack, Apologising, Im so sorry Mate, i did not see you, I thought the road was clear, Bla Blah.
He said he would pay Etc. His Dad has now got involved & said i was reckless, he has taken advice & i can go Swivel,
As you can imagine , Im not best pleased

What do you Guys think ??
    Apologies for the long post

    Cheers

    Dean

I don't think it's reckless, but I also don't think you'd really have a leg to stand on with getting the police involved. Just an unfortunate situation, I think.

Tell him he can either caught up or insurance will get involved. Inform you insurance of the incident but tell them to take no action yet. This way you are covered your end, nothing will count against you on renewal time as no claim has been made. Get a quote for new mirror, sprayed and fitted and drop it on his door.

why do so many people try to get out of owning up to their mistakes nowdays years ago it would have went like this
sorry mate my fault he would either offer to pay or just admit liability to the insurance

it,s getting to the point where we will all need to drive with video recording equipment in our cars now just to stop this sort of thing happening
