    Default Vec GSI Exhaust

My exhaust is falling to bits! Does anyone know if a SRI exhaust will fit a GSI? I know its not a twin exit but really it serves no purpose appart from cosmetics. I need from the centre section to the back. Any ideas of alternatives would be appreciated.

the geniune pipes are extortionate.. avoid at all costs.. the problem is thou, that no-one yet makes pattern pipes.....

When mine goes, it'll be getting an off the shelf MAGNEX or SCORPION system on it.. their catback systems are the same price as just the rear boxes from VX..

    Default Exhaust Problem

Magnex tell me that they do not have an exhaust that will fit,(though they do have a twin exit for the SRI and Turbo Vec C's)....Scorpion do have one cat back system but it doesnt have the nicest looking tail pipes, its got the Jap style Tuner Tail pipes. Any other ideas? Do you think the Turbo exhaust would fit?

    Default Magnex Exhaust

Ok, I ordered a Cat Back Magnex System, Dual exit with the small oval tail pipe. It is supposed to be for a 2.2 SRI........ I will let you know what happens with it and post some pictures if it goes on

You may find the centre box is very different in length(Sri a lot longer) so may not fit .I done it the other way round Gsi to Sri,The Gsi front pipes and cat travel further under the car.So if you try to put a Sri system on it will be way to long.

    Default Magnex Delivered

I got the exhaust delivered yesterday and fitted it myself in about 1-2 hours, (it took me longer to get the old one off than it did to put the new one on!) Magnex put me in touch with a company called road runner. I spoke to a woman there who was seriously clued up! She said that just recently Magnex have made a new system for the 2.2 Sri/3.2 Gsi.....if you have a Sri there is a straight pipe about 60cm long that you put in and if you have a Gsi you leave the pipe out. The exhaust went straight on, no cutting or welding. I fitted the centre then the 1 into 2 V shape then the 2 back boxes. I will post some pics once I have washed the car.

    Default Noise

It is definately louder than standard.....thats not difficult, but its not too noisy. If you have ever heard a Magnex oval on an old vec Gsi it sounds similar. A real nice deep V6 thump at tick over and a nice tone when driving about under 2500 rpm. As soon as you go over that it really quiets down. £360 All in with Delivery. I will get pics done today if the rain stops.
