    Default reg plate bulbs

    Hi

Can anyone advise if there is a 'warning' for reg plate bulbs not working? Car appeared fine but the Dealer told me today that reg plate bulbs are out? I hadn't noticed (obviously).could be something easy but just wanted to make sure it hasn't been 'introduced' today while in the Dealers

    John

Is it common for both bulbs to go at exactly the same time?

Are they easy to get out? Both of mine have 'gone' but not had a chance to look at replacing due to the lovely Scottish weather

Dead easy. You'll need 2 12 volt/5 watt capless bulbs (501 type) and follow the info in the handbook - or click on the thumbnail below.

with mine i didnt even need a screwdriver to pop out the plastic cover, then just pull out old bulb, push in new one. Remember to at least have the doors locked otherwise power will be going to these lights

On another note, is there a fuse for the number plate lights? If so, can anyone point me in the right direction. Can't see it listed in the handbook, but there are 3 fuse boxes 1 at the passenger side front (dash),1 in the engine and 1 in the boot.

Apologies for continuing about this subject.......

.......as far as I'm aware, my car was ok.Last week it went in to get a rear bumper repair done (plastic welded and sprayed). This was done in situ and the bumper was not disturbed (so I'm told).Got pulled by the trafs last week and informed that my reg plate bulbs were not working.Phoned the repairer and was told that the bumper was not removed and there was nothing disturbed.I read a post somewhere that there was a fuse (no 18) that did the number plate bulbs, but on looking, there is no No.18 in any of the fuse boxes (is that the problem ) The car is now due its MOT and that would fail it just now.Find it strange that both bulbs have failed at the same time so it would appear electrical and not simply a bulb fault.Any help appreciated
