Default Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 225/45/17" 94Y XL

    Hi!

I should replace my 3.2 Vectra summer tyres soon, there is about 2mm tread left. I haven't been happy with those terribly loud 215/50 NCT5's, so I'm searching something better.

Has anyone experience about Eagle F1 Asymmetric 225/45/17" 94Y XL?
I could get those at reasonable price, but I'd be interested to hear how they compare with NCT5's and other tyres (noise, treadwear etc.), so any comments are welcome.

    Some info I found from tirereview.com: http://www.tirereview.com/default.as...Text&item=7437

I have the F1's, although not the asymmetric ones in 225/45/17 XL on my siggy and think they are great.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Have the F1's on mine and they're awesome. Read a few articles about the new version and they are hyped as being one of if not the nest tyre available ATM, but thats a magazines view of course.

What I remember it saying is that they tyres were making it possible for a Mondeo to keep up with a Merc of some sort if the Mondeo had the F1ASMC and the Merc had crappy tyres.

The F1's are light years ahead of the NCT-5's. Mud and blankets spring to mind.... Nice and quiet too

Had the f1s on mine, then got them changed to the F1 XLs (as mine is a 3.0 estate & Goodyear advised me to change them).

You should be aware that the XLs are not as quiet as the standard F1s. Still rate them though.

Why are you going for the XLs? You don't need them on that car?

    Thanks for comments!

Hmm.. if the 94 XL's are louder than 91's I might reconsider...

Only problem is that these new F1 Asymmetric -tyres are not available as non-XL's, only 225/45 17" 94 XL: http://eu.goodyear.com/uk_en/images/...cm64-17739.pdf
