    confused taking steering wheel off

    how do i take the steering wheel off a vectra 52 plate sri without any damage to the airbag and what tools ??

    Disconnect battery, leave airbag to discharge for a while...

    Pop it off using 2 holes at the bock of the steering wheel and poking a small thin screwdriver up there - it's two sprung clips that you just need to move inwards and then gently pull that side of the airbag off...

    disconnect wires to airbag and sterring wheel controls...

    Get huge Torx socket (male) and screw off...

    15 minutes tops

    It really is easy when you know how.

    The torx bit you need is a T50 aswell.

    I only know because I've done it three times so far messing about with my VXR sterring wheel...


    And will have to do it again soon for it's MoT as the horn doesn't work as it's a different connector....

    As long as the battery's disconnected and you don't chuck the airbag about you'll be fine mate.

    I was 5hitting myself the first time I took it off.

    If i'd have been a bit quicker getting that wheel. It would have been me cr2pping it. LOL I still need a irmy wheel. Maybe they have one in germany with my name on it.
