Sounds like most dealers! were the pads GM marked? was it the vx brake kit? I'd strip them myself, get photos and go back. Even video myself doing it!
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Dealers don't always use genuine parts, they often have a second line which they supply to the trade. I'm not saying they have used non genuine but it could be a possibility.

I'm not just talking about Vauxhall.

You can get problems by fitting pattern pads to some cars. I had a volvo 850 and the rear brakes used to rattle a lot, turned out the pads were not Volvo/lockhead so had them changed and problem sorted ! (after thinking the rattling was the anti roll bar lol)

So i'd have a good look and if the pads aren't stamped GM then fit some GM ones and that could well sort it out.

Can be a bit of a funny one this. The OE pads I took out of my Vectra were Ferodo, the Mintex ones I have just fitted seem perfect, no untoward noises and now they are bedded in they seem great.

I was asked some years ago to source some pads for a Lotus Carlton which had AP Lockheed racing calipers so on the phone to AP Racing I goes only to be told they don't do friction. They faxed me a picture of the backplate and suggested I go to Mintex!

Sometimes difficult to tell what is an isn't genuine!
