If you have a 1.9cdti 120 don't worry, it doesn't have them, if you have a 150 it does. Basically what they do is vary the inlet tract length to either give more torque or power dependant on demand, a clever little engineering trick that works, until they stick!
I am under the impression that later models were fitted with a modified inlet manifold, someone will correct me if I'm wrong I'm sure, I am led to believe that mine was fitted with the modified version when it was changed.
If it does develop a fault you will experience a serious loss of power, limp home mode is incredibly limp!

Thats correct they have modified the swirl valve (inlet) on the new´er parts. just got mine changed today after that error.
mine is 1.9 150 on a march 07 reg? will i have the mod?
Not sure...
If you have a friendly dealer they could have a look and tell you the date break on the part change, or maybe someone on here with TIS could tell you, I don't have it any more
