Default First service-what a good dealer

Took the Pug for it's first 'inspection service' today. The car has a 2 year/20'000m interval, but Peugeot do a check/fluid service free of charge at twelve months to make sure everything's OK.

I noticed about four/five months ago the car had a 2006 sat nav disc, despite it being new in Mar 2007. I just casually mentioned it to the service receptionist and without hesitation, she ordered me a 2008 disc completely free. I think some Vx dealers could learn a thing or two from them.

The only downside was that I forgot to tell them not to wash it and horror of horrors, they put it through a car wash. (I washed and polished the thing yesterday ) They did do a good job of hoovering it out though. As the whole thing was free, I think they're taking their customer service pretty seriously.

O Come on MLC you dont have to try and justify buying french I hope there good, I know and you know in the back of your mind that your waiting and keeping your fingers crossed that the usual french traits dont appear.

I know what your saying about Vx dealers though, still not a patch on the Mazda dealership when I had my 6. Its obviously too much bother for Vx to wash a customers car after a service.

My fingers are very firmly un-crossed. I don't lie awake worrying about anything going wrong with my car. I didn't with my Vec, nor with my MG ZT before that.

(Although if I had a common rail Vauxhall, I might well take finger crossing up as a hobby )

It's just a comment on customer service. I've had nothing but good experiences at the dealer I bought the car from (although I haven't seen them since I bought it). It's just a shame that this sort of treatment is the exception, rather than the norm.

sent my veccy for its 1st service last week, must admit was annoyed seeing as it only has 6'100 on the clock, but the most expensive part was the oil, total bill was £96, tho this is from an independant not the main dealer

I took our works van for its post delivery 1500 mile check at the local Peugeot/Citroen main dealer and to be honest... They were fabulous! Even before I told them why I was there they were like "hey, come take a seat, what can we do for you?" all cheery and friendly. Chap was really helpful, went 2 pick it up 3 hours later and got served by a diff chap and he was also really friendly/helpful.

Talked me through what they done and walked me out to the van to make sure I was happy with it. And they had even givin it a wash! Not a proper wash but still a wash!

    Impressed!
