    Default Curiosity

Curiosity got the better of me today. I have the 1.8, so I decided to take the black engine cover of today to see what the engine looked like underneath. I noticed it didn't have the traditional HT leads for the spark plugs, it has a sort of rail thing that conects all the plugs together. I also took the engine cover into the kitchen to clean (wife wasn't best pleased) and it looks like new again. Anyone else took the engine cover off? or am I just a nutter?

Yep, they don't have HT leads these days - coil packs now.

Is the coil pack the thing that conects to the plugs then?

Laris has given up with what I do and take off my car. Mind you I must see how far I can push her........... I wonder what she would do if I took the wheels off and waxed them in the lounge.

I noticed it has 5 wires going to it, looks expensive!! the coil pack is held down with torx bolts. So I suppose you just unbolt it and pull it of when you cange the plugs, then bolt it back down.

Lol! I know someone who polished the engine block from his stripped down Harley sat in front of the TV - the block was on his coffee table!
