Default Anyone got any experience of...

(you're going to hate me), the Ford S Max? Looks like that's where my money may be going.
Gets good reviews, supposedly drives very well (new Mondeo chassis) and seems to hold it's money VERY well.
Can just about afford a 2007 Titanium 2l diesel, just have to get a test drive first to confirm the choice.
Not that I've got a large family, it's just that I need a large vehicle for carrying stuff for work.

Only driven one for a couple of days "rental". I found the seats to be a bit small and ROCK hard.

It's either that or the new Mondeo I think.
There's not a lot else out there in the £16-17k bracket if you look. Car cannot be over 3 yrs old as it's company policy so I want as new as possible and that rules out 55 reg and earlier cars. Need a big car for carrying stuff and ideally it needs to be a diesel for the econony.
SAAB - No way, Vectra in drag.
Vectra - erm, think I'll pass. (Shame really)
    V70 - Too old/leggy at that money.
Passat - Yawn, had 5 of them in the past and dealer's not too hot.
Galaxy- I only have 1 child.
    Alhambra/Sharan - dated.
    A4 - Too small.
407 - Would be really nervous of buying a French car after my Laguna II.
    Grandis - Too big?
    V50 - Too small.
    Any 4x4 - I don't think so!

So as you can see I'm kind of limited in my choices!!

I had a look at the 6, but I don't want a poverty spec one and the new model isn't around in any quantity S/H yet.
Not a bad looking car from the front, not so sure on the back, plus I need the estate.

I just can't bring myself to try one as I don't like the centre console, it just looks so cheap and nasty.
I'm no badge snob as I've looked at the Octavia VRs diesel (just too small and really basic for the money).
