Default Ever seen a tyre repair done like this

So I picks up me tracter from the spray shop and their is a nail in the tyre - perfecto! Any how there was a tyre place just next door and he could do it there and then.

He pulls the nail out and puts in a circular file which cleans and evens the hole. Then with another tool he pushes a strip of rubbery stuff through the hole. (pushed from the middle so the two ends come together if you see what I mean)

Cuts off the excess and job done. He reckons its new technology, as the wheel heats up the stuff bonds to the inside of the wheel.
G'teed for life of the tyre. £10.

    New one on me.

Not new technology at all mate. It's been done for years.

Nope didnt do anything else. Didnt even take the tyre off, just did it where I had pulled up. All done in less than 2mins.

Clean and simple, but it will bug the hell out of me now until I replace the tyre.

I occasionally help out in a mates tyre depot.
I do these repairs with the wheel still on the car when I can!!
As long as you ream out the hole with the supplied drill/file bit they work 100% of the time.
Must have done 40+ and NEVER had one back with a complaint.
