Default Arrived Today & Will be fitted Tonight !!

A new Bmc performance panel filter.

Now im not expecting any real noticeable increases but seeing as it was a Birthday present it would be rude not to try it. The filter is of the cotton mesh type & looks just like the K & N but is cheaper.

I'll let you know what the Bum Dyno say's after a few miles

£38 Inc Vat from Europerformance.co.uk although they are slightly cheaper from edworthys.co.uk but their customer service was Poo so i did not bother with them.

Fitted it this lunch time (1.9 Cdti 150) & then did the old, Putting your hand over the air intake to see how hard it sucked With the paper element it tried to compress the flutted plastic hose, With the Bmc element it did not compress it as much !! So from that naff test it would seem the paper element flows more !!!

After a few miles of driving the car does seem to be more torquey, I had already carried out the Airbox mod.. I suppose i will know better after some proper driving miles have been racked up

    Cheers

Clocked up some more miles & i think it has smoothed things out & a bit more free revving,
But it all could be a figment of my imagination !!

    Cheers mark.
I have noticed that any changes take a good few miles before you see the difference, (Better or Not) which makes sense when you change any of the input values & the Ecu compensates/adjusts ...

I have just been looking at Pics of Mrs Gsi's motor & the colour coded sill's Etc V Nice, So much to do & so much money required !!
